Hola :)

Before starting on my first week in South America, I will first tell a little of what I did in Marocco these past 3 weeks.
Short itinerary:
We went to (in this order): Marrakesh, Rabat, Tangier, Chef Chaouen, Fez, Megnez, Er rachidia, dessert, Marrakesh, Essaouira.
This trip put my Arabic and French to a heavy test, but Margot and I managed to get what we want and where we want. Sometimes we were scammed, sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. All part of this new adventure.
We went to local hammam's were we felt as soft as a babyskin afterwards, tried all types of food (also from the street) and met locals. These locals made us experience some amazing things.
On the way from Marrakesh to Rabat we met 2 girls who told us when we get to Chef Chaouen we should go to Akzjour where you could climb up to a waterfall and is still very local. On our way from Megnez to Er Rachidia we met a boy who become our guide for 2 days and who showed us all the little treasures on the eastern part of Morocco. Among which was a camel ride into the dessert, a stay with the nomads, and a lovely Berber pizza!
Of course we also had bad experiences, but the good made up for all the bad!

After Marocco I was home for 2 days. After a quick wash and last minute shopping South America was my next destination.

I can tell that my Spanish is very basic, but we manage to get by. And the next 2 months it can only improve again! Compared to Morocco, Bolivia and Peru (the two countries I've been so far) are much calmer and the people are friendlier and less pushy. On my first day I flew into La Paz and unfortunately got altitude sickness.... After 12 hours of sleep and a wonder pil I felt better and we could take our flight to Rurre. Here we took a pampas tour. Which is a kind of swamp/jungle. We saw many types of birds, caimans, and pink dolphins (which was a highlight together with the toucan we saw).
We are now in Cuzco and will walk the Machu Pichu track tomorrow! Fingers crossed there is no rain and fog :)

Hasta luego!
